Renault Kwid Launched at an Introductory Price of INR 2.56 Lac

Renault India has finally launched the much anticipated car Renault Kwid today in the Indian market at a starting price of INR 2.56 Lac and the top model costs INR 3.53 Lac. This new hatchback has launched with only petrol engine option. No diesel engine option is available at the launch, though according to a report company is working on 1.0-litre petrol engine.Renault-Kwid

The company has introduced the Renault Kwid hatchback with six different variants holding separate price tag. Here is the list of all six variants with their prices –

STD – INR 2,56,968

RXE – INR 2,88,960

RXE (O) – INR 2,94,960

RXL – INR 3,11,664

RXT – INR 3,44,132

RXT (O) – INR 3,53,132

The new hatchback is a first Renault-Nissan alliance model based on CMF-A platform and will be manufactured in company’s Oragadam plant in Tamilnadu. This hatch will be available in five body colours – Fiery Red, Ice Cool White, Planet Grey, Moonlight Silver and Outback Renault-Kwid

Talking about its interior and exterior features, there’s a seven-inch touch-screen Media-Navigation System, which is first ever in the segment. Except this, a fully digital instrument cluster and the piano black finished center console give a scenic view from inside.

From outside it is equipped with the chrome garnish tail lamps, side body cladding and SUV looking front with a best-in-class ground clearance of 180mm. As we earlier posted in the news, company also offers six accessory packages for those who want to customize and make it more personal.

Under the hood, Renault Kwid hatchback is powered by a completely new BR-8 DOHC aluminium 3-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 799cc. It produces a maximum power of 54 PS and a peak torque of 72 Nm.  The power is transmitted through a 5-Speed either manual gearbox or an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox.

With an attractive price tag and a best-in-class millage of 25.17 kmpl, the new Renault Kwid hatchback is going to be a very tough competitor for the cars like Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon and Datsun Go.
